This temporary visa enables a parent of an existing Australian Citizen; an Australia permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand, to stay in Australia on a temporary basis (for a time period of 2 years). You can work and study in Australia without government assistance during this span of time.

This visa allows an elderly parent of an existing Australian Citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia on temporary basis. As an applicant, you can live in Australia for up to 2 years with this visa. You can work and study during this period of time, but you will not be eligible to obtain any government assistance. This visa type is the pathway to applying for a permanent Contributory Aged Parent (subclass 864) visa
