Partner visa temporary (Subclass 820)
Partner visa temporary (Subclass 820) allows the de facto partner or spouse of an Australian Citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen to stay in Australia on a temporary basis. Having this visa is the first step toward the permanent partner visa (Temporary Partner visa – Subclass 801)
Partner Visa permanent (Subclass 801)
You must apply for both visas at the same time and pay only of application fee. Applications are assessed in two stages, with a lag of two years.
Parent Category Visas
The Parent Category visas are the form of visas for bringing Australian Citizen’s or residents’ parents to the country. There are various categories in which your parents are permitted to enter the country for a restricted or indefinite time.
Eligibility Criteria
You might be eligible to apply for a parent category visa if:
- you have a child who is an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen
- your child has been living in Australia legitimately for at least 2 years before you lodge your visa application
- you have a sponsor (child)
- you meet the Balance of family test criteria
- you meet health and character requirements.
How long are your parents permitted to stay on a Parent Category visa, in Australia?
The parent category visa allows your parents to:
- live in Australia for up to 2 years as a temporary resident
- live in Australia as an Australian permanent resident.
